ICICI Bank is India's largest credit card issuer

ICICI Bank leads the pack with a 30% market share and has issued 5 Million credit cards at the end of March 2006. Citibank India comes second with 2.9 million credit cards up from 2.2 million cards at the end of 2004. SBI the aggressive PSU bank with PAN India presence is close to displace Citibank soon with 2.5 million credit cards at the end of 2006 up from 1.3 million at the end of 2004.

As reporetd earlier, the average spending on cerdit card by Indians has also gone upto Rs20,000.
