Bogus Online Bill Payment Offer
HDFC Bank Limited has announced an offer for its Credit Card folders to try the Online Bill Payment facility known as "Pay Now". This doesn't require any registration and is introduced in association with Bill Desk a secured online bill payment partner.
HDFC will charges Rs 10 + taxes for every transaction. However, as an introductory offer till 31st May 2008, you will get a discount of Rs 50 on transaction of Rs 25o or above. Maximum discount of Rs 250 / Month. I called my utility company Airtel Telephone [Landline] and they said they will not give any such discount and are not aware of any such offer.
We suggest HDFC bank credit card holders to AVOID this as this is a trap laid by HDFC Bank to its customers. The banks customer care sucks as they hang-up on your call when they can't answer. Nothing new I suppose :-)

Just read your comment on the PayNow product launched by HDFC Bank Credit Cards with the launch offer of Rs 50 off on every transaction with a cap of Rs 250 per month. This offer is from HDFC bank and not the biller and the same is posted as cashback to the customer's card a/c. You should check with the users of this product who have availed the offer.
Well, HDFC Bank Product Managers can't even design products to convey the real message to customers. I don't give a fu*k about them anymore. Have no option but to use Credit card for e-commerce.
I agree with Chandni. The offer is from HDFC and not AIRTEL. So one should call HDFC customer care to verify the offer.
I have made 2 payments for my Airtel bills and checked back with HDFC - they assured me that the cash shall be given - but after 15 day of the transaction.
Yeah, the offer was from HDFC Bank and I have got the cashback :)
Yeah i also get cashback for 3 bills paid through PAY-NOW, though my amount get credited in next month only.:)
