Credit Card Division in Trouble

The Credit Card division of the State Bank of India has committed crimes which has put the bank's credibility in question. On the sidelines of a Right to Information [RTI] case it was reported that Cheques issued by consumer towards payment of SBI Credit Cards were not encashed by the bank in time. The bank later levied late fees and then encashed the cheques after the due date.

To investigate this matter, the SBI Credit Card consumer sough the help of High Court bench when the bank refused to produce documents demanded under the RTI act.

We advise our readers to get a seal on the challan / counterfoil when payment is made towards credit card by cheque.

I was also one of the unfortunate SBI card holders till 09.08.2009(Card No.(4006676016484274). Full payment as demanded by them was paid on 09.05.2008 and the SBI credit card was destroyed as per their letter dated 10.05.2005.Suddenly, one fine morning on 03.06.2008 I got an SMS that I had to pay Rs.548.82 or Min amount of Rs.268.64 payable by 21-JUN-08). I started smelling rat but thinking that the amount was small I paid the amount of Rs.549/- vide cheque no.635666, SBI, Guwahati.
After that everything went fine until I got a call from the non-existent no.of SBI Credit from Gurgaonm demanding that I had to pay Rs.7720/-since a cheque issued by me on 07.04.2007 vide cheque no.820186 went undeposited by them and hence could not be credited in their a/c.
Now, what I was telling them was that they did not deposit the cheque intentionally to keep me entrapped perpetually.Further to that how can I accept it that the amount was not not levied by them with other chrges since my trnasaction continued till June 2008.
This whole thing has created several doubts in my mind and have been writing to head.sbicards@ge.com for presenting me the entire gamut of transactions since inception.
Satisfatory explanation however is awaited for further course of action. I believe now that they have taken many times more than what was due since they are a bunch of extremely careless people.
Now can anyone please guide me and tell where should I go for justice. I am ready to cooperate fully in the proceedings
