Indian credit card user base grows 30% YoY

India had just 3.5 Million(35 lakhs) credit cards in 2000. As of March-2006, the number has swelled to 19 Million, representing a YoY growth of 30%. Not just the number of users have increased, but also the average spending has gone up from $368(Rs16,560) in 2000 to $437(Rs19,665) in 2006.
